How enlightening is a ?message 404? to someone visiting your website?
Experienced users may know that it means the page does not exist. Until such time as this kind of information is taught at primary school, you can use the ?Error pages? function to write a more informative message, or specify a web page to be displayed, for example, when someone tries to access a page which does not (or no longer) exists. Such a page might contain a sitemap and a search function to help visitors get back on track again.
You can specify a particular message, a page within your own website, or an external web address, as in the example shown below:
