Howto use WS FTP LE to transfer files to the server
WS_FTP LE is an excelent little FTP program that can handle most users needs without any problems, even at a very attractive price: Absolutely free. As long as the use is only private or for study purposes. You can download the program HERE.
When the program is started a window will pop up with information on the last used FTP connection profile - these can either be altered or you could click the "New" button to create a new profile. Fill out the fields with the information you received in the welcome letter that was send to you when the subscription was created. In the example below the user "user" is making a connection to the server "gpserver.dk":
"Profile Name" is just a descriptive name for the profile - it can be anything you would call this connection, "Website", "Work" or something completely different.
Click on "Advanced" and mark the check box by "Passive Mode" - forgetting this step can cause problems with uploading or saving files to the server:
Now it is simply a matter of clicking "Apply" to save the profile and "OK" to connect to the server. Please notice that 3 successive connection attempts in a row with wrong password will result in a lockout of the account for 20 minutes. This is done for security reasons, if it happens simply wait 20 minutes and try again.
